ABOUT PAUL HOFFMAN

Paul Hoffman, Bowker’s Educational Liaison, has been an accredited librarian since 1989 when he graduated from the School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Wisconsin Madison. During the past year, Paul has become an indispensable part of the Bowker team, first acting as an on-site training specialist and now as Bowker’s dedicated educational liaison to the library school community. Extremely involved in the Nebraska library network, Paul brings his experience, wit, and enthusiasm to library classrooms all over the country.

EXPERIENCE:

Training & Information Specialist/Bowker Educational Liaison, January 2005 - Present

Responsibilities include arranging and conducting on-site training and support for multi-type libraries and other institutional customers of Bowker's Web- and CD-based services; integrating Bowker products into customers' workflow in order to increasing institutional efficiency; increasing customer satisfaction with and skill using Bowker products; supporting current and subsequent sales activities of regional sales representatives; providing feedback and suggestions to in-house staff to aid in developing product enhancements; assist with testing of new databases and product-specific features and functionality; work collaboratively to improve/enhance training materials and other support documentation; serve as Educational Liaison between Bowker and institutions participating in the Bowler Library School Initiative; represent Bowker and provide presentations at library- and publishing-related trade shows.
