How to Use BIP Alert

It's easy to begin using BIP Alert!

First, perform a title search on the Booksinprint.com site, using the Quick or Advanced Search interface. Revise your search as much you need to.

Once you're satisfied with your search criteria, click the "Save My Search" button found near the top center of all Search Results Pages.

This brings you to the sign on page. To sign on, enter your email and password, and hit the LOGIN button.

If you're not yet registered, simply choose the "Click here if you do not have a BIP Alert account" link.

To create a new BIP Alert account, all you need to provide is your name and a valid email address. Hit the SAVE button, and we will then send you an email, confirming your address and providing you with a temporary password (which you'll be able to change yourself the first time you log in).

After you've signed on, you'll be able to name your saved search, as well as choose whether or not you'd like Bowker to provide you with email alerts.

If the answer is Yes, then you can let us know both when and how often you'd like to receive these alerts.

If the answer is No, then your search criteria will be saved, and you'll be able to run the saved search whenever you wish to by signing on to your BIP Alert account at Booksinprint.com.

You'll see a message letting you know that your search has been successfully saved. From here, you can either return to your search results or browse your list of BIP Alert saved searches.

When browsing your saved searches, you have the option of viewing, deleting, renaming, or changing the settings for any of your saved searches.

Search criteria themselves may only be changed by performing a new Quick or Advanced Search, then clicking the "Save My Search" button.

That's all there is to it. Email alerts -- if you've chosen to receive them -- will now be sent to you as often as you've requested them. These alerts will notify you whenever new results are available, so that you can log in to your personal BIP Alert area to view them. And whether or not you choose to receive alerts, you're free to log in to BIP Alert at any time to see the status of your saved searches.
