Visitors to the booth who join us for a short presentation on one of the topics above will be entered into a drawing to receive a 7” bobblehead of our founder, Richard Rogers Bowker. Plus, stop by and have your picture taken with “R.R.” himself!

Bowker's New Complimentary Readers' Advisory Tool

If you like The Da Vinci Code, try The Third Secret, The Book of Q, or Eyes of the Virgin.

If you like Memoirs of a Geisha, try The Strangeness of Beauty, The Laws of Evening: Stories, or The Samurai’s Garden.

Now, Bowker’s new readers’ advisory tool, Fiction Connection, can help you provide advice to your patrons for their next great read. Confidently say, “If you like this, try this!”

Fiction Connection can direct readers to books they will enjoy by having patrons type in a title of a book they already love, or readers can casually browse titles by selecting a topic, genre, setting, character, location, and timeframe.

Like PatronBooksInPrint.com, Fiction Connection is complimentary with any BooksInPrint.com subscription.

Beginning January 20th, customers will be able to link to Fiction Connection from the homepages of BooksInPrint.com and PatronBooksInPrint.com. Links will also be found in the fiction rooms of both products.

Or you can feel free to add a separate link to Fiction Connection on your website, or set up remote access so that patrons can use this great new resource right from home.

Look for upcoming promotional materials that you can use in your local newspaper, website, or library bulletin to announce this new resource to your patrons.

Also, in March, look for a live online demonstration and training session. Sign up today at marketing@bowker.com.

Ulrich's™ Transition

The news is making its way through the grapevine ...

The Ulrich’s line of products is now officially part of the CSA family. As of January 1, 2006, ulrichsweb.com™, Ulrich’s Serials Analysis System™, Ulrich’s Resource Linker™, Ulrich’s on Disc™, Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory™, and Magazines for Libraries™ have all transitioned to CSA and will immediately begin benefiting from CSA’s leadership in areas such as interface design, award-winning support, and active customer care programs.

This transition will have no effect on your current subscription or product usage. Beginning in the first quarter of 2006, CSA will transition the invoicing function and the new invoices will provide clear instructions on remittance.

Please feel free to contact Yvette Diven, Serials Product Manager, at ydiven@csa.com for any questions you have regarding this transition. Click to read the complete customer announcement. For more information about CSA, visit www.CSA.com.

We'll Be at ALISE. Will You?

If you're heading out to the ALISE (Association for Library and Information Science Education) Conference before ALA, then take a few minutes to stop by our table and meet fellow librarian Paul Hoffman, who also serves as Bowker’s Educational Liaison for the Bowker Library School Initiative. This initiative was designed to provide materials, resources, and in-classroom support for those professors in library school programs who wish to teach Bowker products in their classrooms.

Bowker’s LSI program is beginning to book in-classroom support dates for 2006. For more information about the program, or to schedule a date with Paul, please contact Marketing@Bowker.com.
